Restaurant Consumer Confidence Index

Restaurant Consumer Confidence Index

Bellwether Food Group initiated the Restaurant Consumer Confidence Index Report in November 2016, based on a survey conducted in conjunction with Professor W. Michael Lynn, the Burton M. Sack ’61 Professor in Food and Beverage in Food and Beverage Management, at the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, and Editor of the Cornell Hospitality Quarterly (CQ).

The survey is conducted once a quarter with 1,000 consumers geographically and demographically balanced across the USA. This proprietary research is designed to determine what drives consumer behaviors and feelings about spending money in restaurants. Consumers are asked about their usage of, and spending in, restaurants the previous three months and their anticipated spending in restaurants for the next three months. Respondents are also asked to compare their overall restaurant spending the past year versus next year, their feelings about the economy, their own financial security and confidence in US political leadership.

Annual subscriptions are available for $1,895. For further information or a complete copy of the first report, please contact Mac Brand, at 773-255-6466, or mbrand@bellwetherfoodgroup.com
